I worked closely with the lovely Hilary Kearney (aka Girl Next Door Honey) and the amazing HarperCollins team to illustrate the wonderful “Little Book of Bees - An Illustrated Guide to the Extraordinary Lives of Bees”. There are approximately 70 individual illustrations in total depicting many bee species, bee-friendly flowers, honey, beekeeping equipment and more.

I was thrilled to illustrate a third puzzle for UK small business Bloom Puzzles. This time the subject was enjoying a cosy baking day in a beautiful country-style English kitchen, with the centre piece being a traditional AGA oven. I drew on memories of baking with my mum throughout the years and included lots of nostalgic baking tools and fresh-out-of-the-oven homemade treats.

Following the same formula as previous puzzles “The Potting Shed” and “The Beach Hut”, I illustrated each element separately in graphite and watercolour before later assembling the design digitally.

I was commissioned by small British puzzle business, “Bloom Puzzles” to create a series of garden illustrations that evoke a warm summer's day spent pottering in an English country garden, enjoying the scents of the garden in full bloom and listening to the gentle buzz of the bees.

I illustrated each element individually before assembling a lively design centred around the garden shed. The contrast between larger objects like the garden gate and beehive to the smaller creepy crawlies hopefully makes for a fun and challenging puzzle with some surprises to be found along the way.

There was over 50 individual elements to illustrate, including a larger “potting shed” centrepiece illustration, lettering for the title and hand-drawn annotations for the flowers.

It even has its own Spotify playlist to help set the mood as you puzzle over the pieces.

I illustrated six variations on the classic scone for this lovely little book from the National Trust written by Sarah Clelland. The pocket-sized guide includes 50(!) scone recipes alongside information on many National Trust places to visit. 

My featured renditions include the classic jam and cream scone, chocolate "rocky road", summer fruit, savoury cheese, sweet honey and a very festive ‘mince pie’ scone.

The second puzzle design created for small UK puzzle brand, Bloom Puzzles. This time the brief was to celebrate the Great British Seaside, and create a sunny seaside holiday in a puzzle! with a cosy beach hut as the centrepiece and vibrant colour palette.

We discussed what makes British beaches so iconic and memorable as well as the local plants and wildlife. I also drew on personal memories of time spent at the beach paddling, rock-pooling and beachcombing for inspiration.

I was thrilled to design a tall tower of 30 individual characterful dinosaurs for Memories of Growing Up’s “Talltape” range. Each dino is unique and annotated with his/her scientific name.

Children's storybook illustration for the lovely "Angus and the Surprise" by Kelly McGill, which is the first in a series by Kelly entitled "Angus: Lord Snizort of Trotternish". The story follows Angus the border collie, his friends and their adventures in a huge Scottish castle.

Kelly approached me with her ideas for the series and I was captivated by her love of all things Scotland. I worked closely with Kelly to bring her wonderful characters and Scottish settings to life. This lovely story is now available to buy on Amazon.
